Surroundings of Agüimes and Cocodrilo Park (private)
Our first stop will be Barranco las Vacas, which is also called the small Canarian "Antelope Canyon". It will take you about 40 minutes to descend to the canyon and return, while we will drop you off directly at the descent into the gorge and pick you up at the agreed time at the same place.
We will continue with a visit to Cocodrilo Park, which is home to many animals taken or found by SEPRONA (Nature Conservation Service) and individuals who were not aware of the risks their pets pose when they become adults. Just as a cat or a dog is part of a family, exotic animals have also found a place in families. The problem arises when we realize that the care these quirky pets require is a far cry from traditional pets. Many of the park's animals have horrific stories of abuse and neglect. With your visit, you are cooperating in ensuring that these animals have their food, veterinary care and thus a home. (2 hrs)
We will then continue to one of the most beautiful valleys on the island, Barranco de Guayadeque. A visit to the ethnographic museum awaits us, where you will learn something about the life of the original inhabitants of the island. We will look at the rock dwellings used to this day. You will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch with a wonderful view of the gorge.
Next, we will visit the historic town of Agüimes. You will recognize for yourself that it is not called the city of statues for nothing. Narrow streets will lead us through the city. Our last stop will be at a place where sea salt has been produced in the same way for centuries.
